I have tried innumerable times to get up early in the morning and have failed innumerable times, because life happens!! The thing is if I have to wake up early because of office work, kids or something else I will do it no matter what. But if I have to wake up because I want time for myself, or workout then I do get up for 2 or 3 days or even a week and then eventually I give up!!
But here I am trying this one more time. Recently I came across this article by George Halachev on Medium.com and it really has some good points. So here is what I am going to do differently this time.
- Not setting an unrealistic time to wake up – Before this I used to set up a time of 5AM or even 4AM for waking up but went to bed at 12:00. And as you can see this is not sustainable. So this time I am setting it up to 6:00 AM and I will try to go to bed by 11:30 PM or even 11:00 if it is possible.
- Not jumping out of bed immediately – Starting my day with a guided morning meditation. Somehow this really helps. So now when my alarm goes off I dont have to wake up immediately but I switch on a guided morning meditation and start listening to it.
- Doing something I love to do in the morning – I still dont know what is it that I love to do so I have kept it simple I make myself a cup of tea and enjoy it in my office
